Midwinter Magic: A Full Moon Meditation Retreat

Join Joanna on Sunday, February 1st from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM at Sfeer Yoga Studio in Chapel Hill.

At the halfway point between winter and spring, when the earth begins to stir, we will take a day to linger a bit longer in winter’s nest. This auspicious convergence of the full moon and Imbolc, what the Celts call the first spark of spring, offers us potent energy to play with. Together, we will tend both the inner and outer flames through practices that illuminate, restore, and renew.

Our day will include:

  • Guided meditations, rituals, and an altar attuned to the energy of this threshold day

  • Small and large group discussions

  • Community fire to warm and inspire

  • Sound bath for deep rest and nervous system care

  • Mindful Yin Yoga for restorative support with Saskia Meckman, yoga teacher and Certified Reiki Practitioner

  • Signature herbal tea from Monica Rivera of Cultivating Resistance Herbals

  • A warming catered lunch from Vimala’s Curryblossom

  • Free time to paint, journal, or walk the grounds

The majority of this retreat will be held in Noble Silence, with intentional openings for both small and large group sharing.

🌕 Lunch and a small gift are included.

Reparative + Gratitude Discount

I acknowledge that the land and practices we share exist within a long history of racialized injustice and cultural appropriation. The United States was built on the stolen land of Indigenous peoples and the forced labor of enslaved Africans, and many of the practices we benefit from today—including mindfulness—arise from non-Western traditions.

As a small gesture of repair and gratitude, I offer a need-blind Reparative + Gratitude Discount of 30% off on all offerings to anyone who self-identifies as Black, Indigenous, or a person of color (including Indians and Indian Americans). You will never be asked to explain or verify your identity.

If you’d like to accept this discount, please use code REPARATORY at check out.
