Winter Solstice
Meditation Retreat
December 6, 2027 10:30am-5:30pm
Throughout time, spiritual seekers have known the inherent power of darkness - from journeying into the wilderness, the dark night of the soul, emptiness, shadow work, the subconscious mind, dream work, The Great Mystery, and the womb of creation.
As our days grow darker, we are gifted with opportunities to turn inward into our own deep knowing. Winter provides fertile ground for this traveling inward and meditation is a powerful vehicle. Join meditation teacher, Joanna John, for this meditation retreat as we harness the power of winter darkness to support our practice.
This day will be based in the Insight Meditation Tradition and will include:
Guided meditations to support quietude and stillness
Ritual
Signature herbal tea
Yoga from Lauren Sacks
A catered lunch
Small and large group discussions
Periods of time for painting, journaling, or walking meditation
*To honor and preserve the introspective nature of this day, the majority of the retreat will be held in silence, with intentional openings for small and large group sharing.
**This retreat will be capped at 22 participants..
***This event, and all of Joanna’s offerings, are inclusive and affirming of people of all gender identities and expressions, sexual orientations, races, ethnicities, cultures, religions, abilities, and backgrounds. As a sangha, we seek to recognize and name the impacts of racism, xenophobia, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, and other forms of oppression, and to engage in the ongoing practice of antiracism, compassion, understanding, and repair.
